Edge Finishes

The last detail is the one you touch every day.

How a runner's edge is finished decides how it wears, how it looks against your treads, and how long it lasts. We finish every edge by hand in our shop — choose the treatment, we'll show you samples at your consultation.

  1. 01

    Cotton binding

A narrow cotton tape stitched over the cut edge — the classic, understated finish. Durable, tidy, and available in colors matched to your material.

  2. 02

    Serged edges

The yarns at the edge are whipped into a dense, rounded seam for a tailored, upholstery-grade edge. Our choice for high-traffic staircases.

  3. 03

    Wide border tape

A broader border in leather, canvas or wide-gross grain frames the runner like matting around artwork — a deliberate, tailored statement.

  4. 04

    Hand-cut fringe

For traditional homes, a hand-knotted fringe on landings and area rugs echoes heirloom pieces. Reserved for the right material and the right room.
